SMAS Plication is a surgical technique used in facelift procedures to lift and tighten the underlying musculature of the face. The SMAS (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) is a layer of tissue beneath the skin that covers the facial muscles. During a facelift, the SMAS layer is lifted and repositioned to create a more youthful, natural-looking appearance.

In SMAS plication, incisions are made along the hairline and in the natural creases around the ears. The SMAS layer is then lifted and tightened using sutures or plication, a folding technique that creates a stronger and more secure hold. It's important to book an online or face-to-face consultation to determine if SMAS plication is the right option for you.
